1923 - founded and signed a contract with M.J Winkler
1926 - 'Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio' changed to 'Walt Disney Studios'
1928 - loses the Oswald's series contract
1929replaced by "Walt Disney Productions" 
1930 - distribution moved to Columbia Pictures 
1932 - distribution moved to United Artists 
1936 - distribution moved to RKO Radio Pictures 
1938"Walt Disney Enterprises", "Disney Film Recording Company", and "Liled Realty and Investment Company" and "Walt Disney Productions, Ltd." are merged to form "Walt Disney Productions"
1940 - company goes public
1941 - animators strike 
1949 - begins production on the first live-action feature 
1953 - 'WED Enterprises' is brought in to control Disney's rights
1954ends its distribution deal with RKO Radio and founds Buena Vista Film Distribution Company Inc
1961 - buys the rights to Winnie-the-Pooh
1966 - Walt Disney dies from lung cancer 
1967 - construction begins on Disney Land, Florida 
1967 - The Jungle Book
1971 - Roy Oliver Disney dies
1977 - Roy. E Disney resigns 
1983 - Disney channel begins 
1986 - company name changes to the 'Walt Disney Company' 
1987 - first Disney store opens in Florida 
1995 - Disney channel launches in the UK
2005 - Disney Land celebrates it's 50th anniversary
2006 - Disney acquires Pixar Animation Studios
2009 - distribution deal with DreamWork's Pictures 
2014 - acquires Marker Studios for $500 million 
2016 - DreamWork's ends its deal with Disney 
2016 - The Jungle Book (version 2)
2017 - ends its future deal with Netflix
