I will also match the upbeat tempo of the dance track with fast paced editing - cutting between contrasting shots, in time to the beat. I will also use industrial looking lighting as I hope to create a video which has a raw and basic aesthetic, also aided by the use of a typical wide angle shot of a GoPro camera. For this I like the idea of creating a hand-made aesthetic, looking as if one of the characters within the music video are filming, helping to place the AB demographic, 16-25 year olds directly within the act...

Nobody To Love - Sigma In both of these videos, it shows a very clear representation of the age group which are typically into dance music This is shown through the use of age specified models/actors in the videos, all appearing to be in their early twenties. Those shown in the videos are predominantly female, however I do not feel that this is linking to the fact that the artists fan bases are mainly of this gender. From this it is apparent that the videos have tried to target both genders, however, personally I feel that the use of the male gaze has overtaken the empowerment of women which was supposedly targeted at the females watching these videos.  The male gaze is very prominent within both of these videos, with low angle camera shots lingering on women's bodies instead of the overall scene. Due to this, both videos are almost narrowing their audience, by both assuming the sexuality of the audience...

Disco in the early 70's nightclubs were known as discos, they employed DJ's to play dance tracks as this was cheaper than hiring live bands in the mid-70's tracks emerged which had a new rhythm, making them easier to dance to (a simple   four-on-the-floor  bass-drum beat with  hi-hat  on the  offbeats) E.g. Firstly, an obvious theme is the use of bold colours, often also giving their audience connotations of summer, the time when dance music is usually released. Looking specifically at Sigala's and Jonas Blue's websites, they have both used quite cool tones of blue, here usually giving connotations of cold and sadness. However in both examples the overall mise-en-scene of these is the opposite; this has been achieved through the use of a natural looking lighting in Sigala's website, and the use of brightly coloured text in Jo...

E.g. Arctic Monkeys (alternative)  The band have used one main image on their website, this then fades out into a black coloured background. This image used is quite complex and so may be understood in multiple ways; it creates almost a puzzle-like concept with layers creating different shapes. The bottom on the image looks like it may be part of a DJ's set, possibly referencing that their new album may use modern producing techniques. The fade out of this image goes down in a layered formation, creating the aesthetic that the image is stood on a stage.  The text used on this website is very minimal, with the artists name not even present. As well as this, the font used is quite alternative, creating a futuristic theme. The text is set against a black background and so is shown in an off-white/cream colour which links in to the main image. E.g.  It is clear from these videos that they all belong to the dance music genre, with all three using fast paced editing with shots cutting fro one scene to another, creating the sense of realism that their would be in the environment where the song would be played. Furthermore, a typical convention of music videos in the dance music genre is the use of well-lit, vibrant locations. All of the examples above relate to this convention, with Sigala's video the producers have used an urban American setting with bright coloured smoke adding to the vibrancy of the the shots. Similarly, in MK's music video the setting seems to have a more toned down aesthetic however also includes buildings which are painted in brighter colours and pink and blue.  The modern dance music genre has a typically young target audience, ranging from late teens into young adults.   E.g. 'wear a hat indoors' This shot was one of the hardest shots to recreate, as the setting was hard to source. However the shot we did find with the windows in the background work well as a replacement to the mirrors in the original. As well as this, I feel that my group did well at achieving an accurate replica of the wide shot, however in our shot the camera is slightly closer to the models compared to H&M's campaign.  E.g. How organised were you as a group? What elements of organisation were vital to you as a production group? I felt that our group were organised with our production as we completed all the shots and edited the clips together to create the video within the required time frame. This was due to the specific schedule we created prior to the production process. Within this we included details like the name of the shots we needed, as well as the props and models we would require to complete these shots. Due to this previous organisation, when it came to shooting our group knew what was needed to produce a shot which worked how we initially wanted. As a group, we also made the decision not to produce call sheets for each of he shots needed, this was because of the detail we had already gone into with the schedule.  However our organisation did lack when we were unsure as to the dates of the shoots. Because of this there was a couple of situat...
